Cape Elizabeth Arts Commission The mission of the Cape Elizabeth Arts Commission is to enhance and enliven the community by promoting awareness, involvement, understanding and access to the arts including; visual arts, music, dance, photography, writing, theater, film and video.
The Arts Commission is comprised of a seven member board. Board members are nominated by the Town Council appointments committee and appointed by the Town Council; they serve staggered three-year terms. Duties and responsibilities include: coordinating and serving as a clearinghouse for arts activities, selecting artists and preparing a calendar of Gallery exhibits; and distributing any funds that may be appropriated in the municipal budget. The volunteer Commission serves as a clearing house for local art activities by creating
programs that bring a vibrancy and energy to our local community and culture through the arts.
The Arts Commission meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, except for July and August, in the library's Community Room.
The CEAC volunteers manage, maintain, attend and chaperone
Thomas Memorial Library Gallery Art Exhibits.
The sales from these exhibits generate income for the Town of Cape Elizabeth's
Community Art Programs.
