Democracy Cafe – May

Tuesday, May 8
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
The Democracy Café continues in May with a discussion the first and second amendments to our constitution.

First Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petitition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Second Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

How does our society evolve and still abide by our constitution? And how can we best deal with the on-going struggle between rights and safety regulations – particularly when it comes to the right to free speech in the media, and questions about gun control?

Please bring your thoughts, questions, and ideas to share, learn, and connect in a safety zone for civil discussion.
