A movie based on the best-selling book Wonder, by R.J. Palacio, about a boy with a serious facial condition, is coming out later this year.
The library is partnering with the nonprofit organization Facing Maine to host a parent-child book discussion on Saturday, May 6 from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. (rescheduled from April due to weather.) Facing Maine connects, supports, builds awareness, and advocates for individuals, children, and families affected by cleft and craniofacial conditions living in Maine.
The event will include a discussion led by members of Facing Maine, as well as a pizza party. The event is for parents and children ages 8 – 12 years old.
Copies of the book are available to participants either through the library’s own collection or through interlibrary loan.
