The Lonely Books Club: Information for Libraries

Lonely Books Club logo

Thanks for your interest in The Lonely Books Club program. The program was designed in 2007 to encourage children to read older fiction titles that no longer circulate. The list originally consisted of titles from our general middle-grade fiction collection. In 2008, titles from our fantasy, science fiction, and mystery sections were added, as well as folklore collections for older readers, such as Virginia Haviland's Favorite Folktales series and other terrific collections of traditional tales.

The Thomas Memorial Library was awarded the 2008 PLA/EBSCO Excellence in Small and/or Rural Libraries Award for this program. To read more about the program and the award, click here.
