The Lonely Books Club

What are Lonely Books?

Lonely Books are really great books that no one has read for a while. Sometimes their covers are not very interesting. Sometimes they get overlooked because they are not shiny and new. Sometimes they just don’t catch anyone’s eye. They are lonely, and just want to share their great stories with someone who will love them back!

The next meeting of the Lonely Books Club is:

Wednesday, November 19 at 3:30 p.m.

in the library's Community Room.
Refreshments will be served.

Who may join the club?

The Lonely Books Club is for kids who are reading longer chapter books--usually grades 3 and above. Currently, members of the Lonely Books club range in age from 7 to 14.

How does the club work?

If you sign up to join the Lonely Books Club, all you have to do is read books from the Lonely Books list and fill out a brief review form for each book. Once you have read three Lonely Books, you will receive a $5.00 gift certificate to Nonesuch Books and a Lonely Books Club t-shirt. You can keep reading more Lonely Books to earn even more gift certificates that you can spend on books for your own library!

Lonely Books Club Meetings

Lonely Books Club Meetings are held once a month. As a member you are not required to come to Club meetings, but if you do, you'll have fun! Meetings give you a chance to talk about books you have read, hear about books you might like to read, and celebrate books that have been read enough times to make them happy once again. Refreshments will be provided at each meeting.
