    British Academy of Film and Television Awards: The United Kingdom's equivalent of our Oscar and Emmy awards.

    Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards: The Broadcast Film Critics Association is the largest film critics organization in the United States and Canada, representing 199 television, radio and online critics. The Critics' Choice Awards are bestowed annually to "to honor the finest in cinematic achievement."

    Cannes International Film Festival: One of the world's oldest, most influential and prestigious film festivals and competitions, held annually, usually in May.

    Independent Spirit Awards: Annual awards honoring outstanding independent films, presented by Film Independent, a non-profit organization dedicated to independent film and independent filmmakers.

    Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards: "The Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) is a professional organization of Los Angeles-based, professional film critics working in the Los Angeles print and electronic media. Each December, LAFCA members vote on the year's Achievement Awards, honoring screen excellence on both sides of the camera"

    MTV Movie Awards: Film awards show presented annually on MTV (Music Television.)

    NAACP Image Awards: Annual awards "celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice."

    National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Awards: "For over 99 years, the National Board of Review, with no commercial ties to the motion-picture industry, has dedicated its efforts to the support of film, domestic and foreign, as both art and entertainment. Our nonprofit organization celebrates the distinctive voice of the individual artist, honoring excellence and supporting freedom of expression in film."

    National Society of Film Critics Awards: Prestigious awards given annually by this U.S. film critic organization.

    New York Film Critics Circle Awards: Annual awards, "often viewed as harbingers of the Oscar nominations, which are announced each February. The Circle's awards are also viewed -- perhaps more accurately -- as a principled alternative to the Oscars, honoring esthetic merit in a forum that is immune to commercial and political pressures."
