Paintings by local artist Rose Kennealy will be on display the library’s gallery space this month. A reception will be held after the library closes on Friday, November 7 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Rose Kennealy is a Maine coast landscape artist who often paints the interface of the land, sea and sky. She was educated in the Imaging Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology and has been painting in Maine for 15 years. Rose is a colorist whose images are often reported to make people feel happy. Her work hangs in private and corporate collections across the United States.

Register to Read to a Dog online

Winston and MaddieWe have a new, easier-to-use, online registration system for our Read to a Dog program. Children in grades K – 8 can register for 15 minute time slots to read to Winston or Maddie, the library’s two therapy dogs. Winston, a Golden Retriever, is here on Wednesdays after school, and Maddie, a Black Lab, is here on Thursdays after school. For more information about the Read to a Dog program, please click here. Want to join a book group?

Pile of BooksOur Evening Book Group has spaces available for new members!  The group meets on the third Thursday of every month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.  Books alternate each month between nonfiction and fiction titles. Selections are chosen by the group’s members, and a copy of the book will be interlibrary loaned for each participant.

Tate House Museum Passes Available!

Tate House HubbellWe have library passes for the Tate House Museum, a national historic landmark built in 1755 in Portland, Maine. Visit Portland’s only colonial home open to the public, imagine domestic life in an 18th century home and garden, and discover the mast trade and its part in the American Revolution!

These are available from June through October, and one pass is good for up to four individuals (not for groups or organizations).
