We here at Thomas Memorial Library would like to hear the community’s feedback on the prospect of circulating e-reading devices. If you’re interested, please consider taking a minute to answer the 5 short questions in the survey we’ve prepared about what kinds of devices you might be interested in and what kinds of content you’d like to see on these devices.
The Town-appointed Library Planning Committee has completed its report on the library building. The Town Council accepted the report at their November 6th meeting, and will discuss it at a workshop on December 2 at 7:00 p.m.. “I always believed that whatever had to be written would somehow get itself written.” –Seamus Heaney
Irish poet Seamus Heaney died on August 30. We’ve created a page in memory of Heaney, including a video, and a gallery of works by Heaney you can borrow from the library. Please click here.
Our two therapy reader dogs, Winston and Maddie, listened to kids read to them over 60 times this summer! Both dogs will return to their regular school-year schedule beginning the first week of September.
We’ve also opened up the program to middle school students. Now kids in grades K – 8 can sign up to read to Winston on Wednesdays and Maddie on Thursdays between 3:15 and 5:00 p.m. For details about the program, including registration information, please click here.
