Winter Story Time Schedule

  • Mother Goose Time
  • for babies up to 18 months
  • This weekly program for babies up to 18 months old and their caregivers features rhymes, songs, fingerplays, and stories. Babies are never too young to benefit from hearing the repetition of rhymes and songs. This program will provide you with some great tools for bonding with your baby, and offer you the opportunity to meet and talk with other parents and caregivers. There is time both before and after the program for babies to play and interact with eachother, and for adults to talk with one another.
  • Wednesdays, 11:00 - 11:30 a.m.

  • Tales for Tots
  • for toddlers 18 - 36 months old
  • This weekly program for toddlers 18 months to 3 years old features songs, stories, and movement. The program follows a set routine so that little ones will develop the sense of comfort and familiarity that comes from knowing what to expect. Repetition of song and activities helps toddlers develop a sense of mastery. The program begins with "The Wheels on the Bus" (from Toddlers on Parade,) and ends with a parade around the room, with a sprinkling of regular and varied songs throughout. Children are not expected to sit still the entire time, as there are lots of opportunities for movement incorporated into the program.
  • Wednesdays, 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.
  • Thursdays, 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.

  • Story Garden
  • for preschoolers 3 - 5 years old
  • This weekly program for preschoolers 3 - 5 years old is very similar to Tales for Tots, but features longer stories and some songs and movement activities that require a little more coordination. Familiar benchmarks throughout the program help children to feel at ease and to develop a sense of comfort. The program begins with the song "Razzama Tazzama" (from Raise the Children) and ends with a parade around the room.
  • Tuesdays, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m.
    Fridays, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m.

  • Family Story Time
  • for all ages
  • This weekly program for the whole family follows the same format as Tales for Tots and Story Garden but the stories and songs may vary based on the age of children attending. Favorite songs and stories used in the other programs during the week are incorporated into this program as dictated by the developmental level of those in attendance on any given day. Family Story Time ends with a rousing family dance of "The Hokey Pokey" (from Dan Zanes' Family Dance) and the traditional story time parade around the room.
  • Saturdays, 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.
