Who Done It?

Thursday, January 18
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

In noir fiction, the protagonist is never the detective. They are the victim. Or suspect. Or even the perpetrator!

Learn more about this exciting writing style from local author Dick Cass as he joins us to discuss how classic noir detective fiction rose as a subgenre, and who is currently writing in this style. Dick will also read from his noir jazz mystery In Solo Time and take questions about detective fiction, writing, the writing process, and the state of mystery publishing, including the very lively mystery writing community here in Maine.

Senior Tech Time!

Wednesday, January 10
10:30 am – 12:00 pm

Due to popular demand, we are setting up time each month for Seniors to come in to get help with technology questions. We’ll choose a topic each month to help get you comfortable with skills like searching the Internet, creating documents in Word, and learning to Google! You can come every month, or just come on the months that interest you most.

Senior Tech Time will meet the second Wednesday of each month from 10:30-noon. We’ll start off working together as a group in the Conference Room downstairs. Then we’ll move upstairs to the computers to make sure you leave with all of your questions answered.

We’ll start off with a general overview in January – then choose specific topics that appeal to the group for future months.

Please let Adult Librarian Kevin Goody know if you have a topic you’d like to cover!
