All About Balance is a 5-week exercise and educational class focused on improving physical balance. This class has been designed by the Physical Therapists from the Maine Strong Balance Center who specialize in improving balance. Participants should be prepared to complete balance specific exercise each week. The only equipment required is a steady chair. Participants can also expect to learn about the anatomy and physiology of the balance systems, how they change with aging, and the transformative power of balance specific exercise. Upon completion of the course, participants will have a foundation to incorporate balance exercises into their ongoing exercise routines. All levels are welcome. About Jason Adour, PT, DPT: Jason Adour received his doctorate in physical therapy from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions which included coursework at Harvard Medical School and clinical education in the greater Boston healthcare systems. He specializes in the rehabilitation of balance and is the Clinical Director of the Maine Strong Balance Center in Scarborough. He is also a graduate program guest lecturer at UNE and a Steering Group Member of the Maine Falls Prevention Coalition.
About the Maine Strong Balance Center
The Maine Strong Balance Center is an outpatient physical therapy clinic that specializes in the rehabilitation of balance. It was opened in 2017 in Scarborough, Maine. The clinical staff here are experts at improving balance related to aging as well as improving balance related to neurological, vestibular, and orthopedic conditions.
