The Power of the Sun: Cyanotype Workshop–POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER

Saturday, March 23 -- 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

It appears the sun will not be cooperating with us this Saturday.
We’ve decided to postpone this workshop until the summer!

A print made using cyanotype printing of a white juniper branch against a blue backgroundA cyanotype is a monochrome print or image made by placing objects on a pre-prepared light-sensitive surface, which is then exposed to the sun. The light-sentative surface changes color, while the area covered by objects that block the sunlight remains white, resulting in a negative image of the objects. This centuries-old precursor to modern photography has been adopted by modern artists as a medium for creative expression. Come experiment with us! This workshop is intended for adults, but motivated young people are welcome to attend with an adult.

This workshop is part of our Community Art Box project. You will have the opportunity to submit pieces you create during this workshop for display in our Community Art Boxes.
