Requesting from Other LibrariesHas Been Temporarily Suspended

Due to extended contract negotiations at the state level for our van delivery service, library users are currently unable to request interlibrary loan items from other libraries across the state. This interruption will unfortunately extend for a number of weeks though the summer.

We know this is a big inconvenience, especially at the start of summer reading, but patrons will still be able to request and place holds on locally owned items. Thomas Memorial Library is also currently negotiating with other nearby libraries to find ways to share resources while this suspension of van delivery services is in place. We will keep you updated as our plans progress. Give us a call at 799-1720 with any questions or concerns.
The State Library is working to restore our statewide lending as soon as possible, but have to wait out ongoing legal processes. If you have questions about this disruption that we are unable to field, they can be directed to Lori Fisher, State Librarian, lori.fisher@maine.gov or Beth Crist, Director of Special Projects, beth.crist@maine.gov.
